Sass to Dr O after watching him finally fall over the line in a county frame - I'd give you a high five - but you'd miss!

A cue is like an extension to your arm for many players. Some people keep their's for years while others replace them every 6 months. How long have you owned your current cue?

  Message from the GLCPA Chairman

To all Members

As we look into 2021 I would like to update everyone on the status of pool in London given the current government guidance and EPA event status. For obvious reasons this year has been difficult from February onwards, with only 2 inter-county games and the GLCPA interleague season cancelled, however we now need to start looking at what is possible in the new year.

Following some details from the EPA regarding tournaments at Great Yarmouth (press release at http://www.epa.org.uk/events/misc/2021/Spring%202021%20Events%20Press%20Statement.pdf), it may be possible for national events to re-start. Hopefully more details will be forthcoming in the near future, but these events include Champions of Champions, Interleague and Ladies' singles events.

Unfortunately at this point, the EPA have not implemented a way on running events with less than the general 7/9/11 person team formats and therefore GLCPA are looking to facilitate London pool as much as we can. Some leagues are already looking at 3 person team events in a league format, which will be possible if London returns to Tier 1 Covid restriction (rule of 6) and as an organisation we will also be looking at putting on some events that will adhere to government guidelines, we are working through these plans in preparation for a time when they can be implemented.

We are waiting on a decision from the EPA as to how 2020 player registrations will effect 2021 registration requirements, and have already written to your league explaining that no further league affiliations will be due in 2021.

We look forward to a time when we can restart our competitive pool as it was, but until then we will look at ways we can help our members get playing again in a safe environment that protects the players. If you have any ideas for events or would like our help with any local events then please do not hesitate to get in touch.

Kind Regards
Andy Breen
