A cue is like an extension to your arm for many players. Some people keep their's for years while others replace them every 6 months. How long have you owned your current cue?

To All GLCPA members and affiliated leagues.

Unfortunately, 2021 has been another year with very little pool played, although we were able to run successful London Opens thanks to the hard work of Nigel Smith and Alan Day in particular. It was also great to see a number of leagues start up this summer and get playing again, even at reduced team sizes. It is now time to look to 2022 and a full year (hopefully) of pool in the capital.
With that in mind, GLCPA will not be charging any league affiliation fees for 2022 for those who were fully paid up for the 2020 season (which has already been rolled into 2021 free of charge).
The English Pool Association were previously able to roll forward any 2020 member registrations into 2021 free of charge but unfortunately this is not the case for 2022, however GLCPCA and Region 7 are pleased to waive their portion of the registration fee. Therefore, the membership will be £5 for renewals, instead of the usual £15. New registrations will be charged at £15.

Inter County Pool
County trials are planned as following and will take place at Spots and Stripes:
Men’s Teams – Sunday 23rd January 2022
Ladies, Seniors, Juniors and Under 23s – Sunday 30th January 2022.
This is of course subject to any new government guidelines and/or restrictions. Further details will be sent out early in the new year.
For those interested playing next year (and who were not part of 2020 squads) if you wish to discuss trials, or more generally county pool in 2022, please contact the following team captains/managers:
Men’s Teams – Nigel Smith, 07766221997
Ladies – Sharon Bains, 07585909218
Seniors – Rupert Ward, 07769701273
Under 23s – Ollie Lawrence, 07961234434
Juniors – Tony Griffin, 07943263368
For those who were part of any 2020 county squads, your captain will be in touch in due course (if they have not been already) and as we promised to do for 2021, any subs paid for the 2020 season will be rolled forward into 2022.

It is envisaged that a full season of GLCPA Interleague pool will take place in 2022, unless Covid-19 restrictions dictate otherwise.
The format will be the same as 2020 with two groups being split in half at the halfway point, with the top half contesting for the title and the lower half for the minor placings.
The matches will predominately be on the Friday evenings preceding the Sunday County match on the same weekend. The first league match will be on Friday 11th February.
As usual there will be the annual GLCPA interleague KO Cup on a relevant Sunday.
Existing captains from 2020 have been contacted to register your team for 2022. No fee required just confirmation that your team wish to play.
Plans for the 2022 season are now being drawn up and more information will be forthcoming early in 2022 and distributed via team captains and on all relevant media.
The EPA also intend to stage National Finals in 2022 at their new Pontins locations. The qualifying London teams have already been requested a spot for the April 2022 finals.
If you have any concerns surrounding Interleague please contact Paul Gafa on or 07443 456662
AGM – Our Annual General Meeting is planned for 30 January 2022, this is currently due to be in person at Spots and Stripes but may revert to a virtual meeting depending on the government guidelines in place nearer the time, Further details will be sent early in the new year but any proposals will need to be sent to GLCPA Secretary, Paul Gafa on 14 days prior to the meeting (by 16th January 2022).

GLCPA ‘Welcome Back’ Day
In the spirit of getting our members back playing, we are planning a day of free pool and games/competitions with subsidised prize money on Sunday 9th January 2022 at Spots and Stripes, ALL GLCPA members are welcome (and those that are not are free to register on the day to take part). The day will be a combination of practise, organised competitions and generally a chance to get back playing with your fellow GLPCA members. As like anything at the moment, this is subject to government guidelines and further details will be provided next week when the picture is (hopefully) clearer.

Finally, the GLCPA Committee would like to take this opportunity to wish all our members and their families a Merry Christmas and Happy New Year.
You can't hurry a craftsman.
